This street dog was literally living under a parked car until @expedition.ola pulled over and decided she was finally coming home. Alli and Nick, who travel in their camper across Baja, Mexico, to help pups in need, found this timid sweetheart waiting in the shade. Her eyes looked so sad but hopeful at the same time. It seemed like she had been there for days; as they say, “hope dies last.” Locals even stood by and cheered when the rescue started. She is currently nameless and looking for suggestions.

The video shows the team offering treats to get her to trust them. She stays tucked away under the sedan at first, and nearby pet dogs are barking loudly from behind a fence. But she eventually inches forward to meet her new friends. Nick reaches out his hand, and she gives him a sweet lick. That moment changes everything for her.

She stands up and once she is leashed, starts walking with her new humans. Her tail begins to wag as she leaves the old spot and old life behind. She looks so much more relaxed already.
Nick picks her up and carries her. He even lets her kiss his face because she is being so loving. Then, he realizes something is smelly.

He thinks her breath is the problem, but as it turns out, her entire body was covered in poop. Street dog life often means having a rough time keeping clean, so they use wet wipes to give her a thorough cleaning right away. She doesn’t even mind the impromptu bath. She just wants the belly rubs.

“I can already tell this girl is going to be an absolute joy,” Alli wrote in the caption. This pup is already proving how resilient she is. Most pets like her are incredibly grateful once someone finally chooses them. She does a little flip on the road to get more scritches. Someone in the comments suggested the name April “because she is about to blossom!” Another person thinks Güera is perfect because of her light hair. We wish her a beautiful life ahead.
