Foster Puppy Attempts Another Sweet Cuddle With the Big Dog but the Reunion Takes a Turn

Cowboy apparently thought the first cuddle session deserved a sequel. After his earlier attempt to snuggle with Cactus racked up more than 83 million views and five million likes, Michael decided to see if the two dogs could recreate the sweet moment. This time, though, the foster puppy arrives with more confidence, while Cactus is fast asleep and not exactly looking for company. The video from @cactustherescue starts just as sweetly as expected, but the reunion takes an unexpected turn when Cactus gently tries to move Cowboy away. A little slip later, the whole cuddle plan looks very different.

The setup is simple. Michael places Cowboy on the couch and tells him, “Go lay with Cactus again.” Cactus is already sleeping on the other side, and Cowboy heads over without hesitation. The foster puppy first sniffs around Cactus’s paws before moving closer to his face. It looks like another adorable cuddle is about to happen, but the on-screen text quickly clears that up: “Cactus not feeling it.”

Cactus gently tries to steer Cowboy away. Unfortunately, there is only so much room on the couch. As Cactus moves the puppy aside, Cowboy loses his footing and slips right off the edge. The video slows down to capture the tumble, then pauses mid-fall with the words “Help me.” Michael immediately reacts. “Oh he fell off the couch,” he says before walking around to check on Cowboy.

The little pup seems to recover quickly, and Michael tries to reassure him. “I thought you were gonna lay with him, and he pushed you off the couch,” he tells Cowboy. The clip has earned more than 82,600 likes, and viewers have had a lot to say about Cowboy’s unfortunate landing.

One person thanked Michael for fostering him, writing, “Fostering is such important work!” Another joked, “I thought you said ‘play’ not ‘lay’… how silly. – Cowboy.” Others came to Cactus’s defense, insisting, “Cactus is innocent, he did no such thing. Cowboy slipped.” Maybe the foster puppy just got a little too confident after his first cuddle success.
