An older dog named Mr Big is slowly finding his feet again after a devastating attack left him badly injured. He escaped his owner’s home and was reportedly mauled by several street dogs. Rescuer Niall Harbison says Mr Big initially could not eat, stand, or move because of his pain. Now, with caring helpers beside him, the rescue dog is attempting short walks while his recovery brings encouraging signs of progress.

Mr Big is at least 10 years old and remains under the care of Harbison’s team. He arrived with extensive bruising, internal issues, and numerous puncture wounds following the attack. During his first week, his pain was so severe that he could not even eat.

The reel documents his recovery step by step. One on-screen caption reads, “After a week of pain he is finally back eating again.” Ten days later, another says the team is “building him back up.” Soon, Mr Big begins moving across the grass on his own. His legs remain unsteady, and he sometimes falls while trying to walk. However, a helper quickly approaches whenever he struggles.

“Everytime he falls down we are there to help him back up,” another caption explains. Even his wagging tail offers encouragement as the video says his progress is finally coming. Harbison describes Mr Big as one of the “softest and most gentle dogs” someone could meet. Despite everything, the video shows him continuing to try. By the end, a helper supports him while he walks along a path. The reel hopes this gentle boy will eventually be “running around looking for treats one day.”

Viewers rallied around him. One wrote, “Oh bless him it hurts my heart watching how injured he is. Thank you magnificent people at Happy Doggo for helping this beautiful boy.” Another said, “you are the sort of people that keep the world spinning thank you for helping this lovely dog.” A third added, “He must be the biggest softie that he was mauled like that. I would take him home right now if I could. Thanks guys for loving the babes as you do.”
