As most pet parents will tell you, coming home after a long shift feels way better when a friendly pup is waiting for you. Over at @hollythebluestaffy, a beautiful girl from Victoria shows that some rituals and traditions are very important. Even when dad catches her in deep sleep on the cameras just before walking in, this dog will still greet him with a special toy. She hears his car pull up and snaps into action immediately. Once you see this clip, you’ll agree that this Staffy’s commitment to the welcome committee is truly impressive.

Dad catches the entire action while filming as he walks down the hallway. Holly stands at the end of it, with a large plush toy in her mouth. It is amazing how this dog always grabs a toy to greet her dad regardless of the hour. Her owner says hello, and her tail starts wagging with excitement. He says that knowing she will be there is “the best feeling.”

Holly jumps onto the couch to get into a better position for a proper hello. Then she jumps off it and tries to hug him while still holding onto the toy, even knocking his sunglasses a bit in the process. But Dad is not complaining. One viewer jokingly noted that she jumped up on the couch by herself but might later act helpless.

Then dad sits on the floor to match her height so she can reach him to hug him. She refuses to let go of her gift while she wiggles with joy. She clearly gives 100% to her greetings every single day. The excitement eventually catches up with this tired pup.

After the initial meet and greet, the pair settles onto the couch. Holly rests her chin on her owner’s shoulder while still holding her plushie. Her eyes start to close almost immediately. Her dad says she is happy and content now that he is back home and she can resume her nap. One viewer mentioned she basically wakes up just to sleep with him. We’d say that’s an accurate summary.
